PILATES PRACTICE

Recovering from a back injury in 2004, Jennifer asked her physical therapist if there was anything she could do proactively to prevent a relapse. When the PT suggested that Jennifer try Pilates, Jennifer immediately called the Vineyard Pilates Center with the thought of engaging the experts there for one session and then transitioning to a more affordable group class elsewhere. Ten private sessions later, she was hooked and wasn’t going anywhere else. She became a daily fixture at the studio, taking weekly private sessions, duets, and multiple mat classes each week. Pilates was the first form of exercise that Jennifer practiced simply because it felt good in her body. The Pilates method engaged her curiosity and facilitated a positive conscious experience of her physical body. This love of Pilates inspired her eventual teacher training and career path.

Jennifer brings calm, welcoming energy to her clients’ Pilates experience, placing deep focus on the connection between breath and movement. Her sessions are tailored to suit her clients’ needs and address the body, mind, and spirit as they present themselves in the moment. Sometimes that means offering gentle stretching, supporting recovery from an injury, preparing for the birthing process, or coaching an intense workout. Clients leave their sessions feeling better than when they walked into the room: more connected to their physical bodies, awake, alive, and at ease.
